Compliance and Ethical Conduct
Clear responsibilities, honest decisions and accountability for how KFC operates.
Our lending activities
Kingdom First Capital Ltd provides microfinance lending services in Malawi within the scope of its licence and the requirements of the Reserve Bank of Malawi. This policy covers lending, loan administration, customer support and related business activities. A new product, partnership or delivery channel must have the necessary internal and regulatory approvals before it is offered.
Who is accountable
Policy oversight belongs to the Board, implementation to management, and monitoring and advice to the compliance function. Business teams are responsible for the controls they operate. Responsibilities and delegated authority must be documented, with independent review where a conflict or significant risk requires it.
Ethical decisions
Directors, employees and representatives should disclose conflicts that could affect a decision. Personal gifts, commissions or favours must not determine loan approval, collections, procurement or complaints outcomes. Donations and partnership support must not purchase influence over a customer decision. Conflicts should be recorded and managed by someone independent of the decision.
Working with partners
Partners should understand the permitted activity, how funds and information are handled, who answers customer concerns and how outcomes are measured. A partnership enquiry is not a funding commitment or a guaranteed social return. Due-diligence documents should be shared through an agreed channel after checking their confidentiality and permitted recipients.
Monitoring and correction
Maintain an obligations register, assign accountable owners and retain evidence of required returns, training and control checks. Exceptions require a documented decision and a completion date; no internal exception can override the law or a licence condition. Significant failures should reach the appropriate management or Board level, with remediation independently checked.
Public information and internal records
The Policies hub presents customer information and approved public summaries. It should not expose investigation files, customer data, security playbooks or confidential Board records. Readers can use the Complaints or Contact page to request clarification or raise a concern.
